INNER WORK FOR EDUCATORS
Your teachers don't need more strategies.
They need the inner capacity to use the ones they already have.
Half-day & full-day workshops available
THE PROGRAM
Schools train teachers in what to do.
Almost no one trains them in who to be while doing it.
The most effective professional development addresses not just technique — but the inner patterns that determine whether any technique lands at all.
"The prepared adult is the most important element in the prepared environment."
Montessori Philosophy · The starting place for this work
WHAT IT IS
A proprietary framework for the inner life of educators.
The Threshold Method is a half-day or full-day professional development experience built on three intersecting bodies of knowledge. It gives educators a precise, shared language for understanding why they leave their best selves behind — and a set of concrete tools for returning.
Pillar 01
The Karpman Drama Triangle
A clinical model for understanding the three roles we unconsciously adopt under stress — Villain, Victim, Hero — and why each one blocks our access to our own best thinking.
Pillar 02
Somatic Awareness
The body knows before the mind does. Educators learn to read their own physical signals as early warning systems — and use them as a pathway back to choice.
Pillar 03
The Spiritually Prepared Adult
The Montessori tradition's deepest insight: the adult's inner state is the environment. The Threshold Method operationalizes what it means to cultivate that state deliberately.
THE COST TOOL
Below the line, we react.
Above it, we respond.
The Openness to Discovery Scale gives educators a precise, shared language for naming where they are — and a clear map back to the capacity to respond.
OPEN TO DISCOVERY: WE REPOND
CLOSED TO DISCOVERY: WE REACT
Villain
"I know what's wrong and who caused it. Certainty has replaced curiosity — and I've stopped seeing this child or situation clearly."
Victim
"Nothing I do makes a difference. The helplessness feels true — and it has closed off every response I might otherwise have access to."
"Above the line is not a permanent address. It is a direction you keep choosing — the same generous, patient returning you already know how to do."
Above the Line · The Threshold Method
Hero
"I'm the one who has to fix this. My care has outrun my trust — in the child's capacity, and in everyone else's."
THE WORKSHOP
Four modules.
One lasting shift.
Module 01
Locate
Identify your default role and its somatic signals. Name the pattern without judgment.
For Schools
On-Site Workshop
Half-day or full-day, tailored to your staff's specific dynamics, culture, and needs. Montessori and general educator versions available.
Module 02
Understand
Separate what belongs to the system from what belongs to your inner response. Advocate precisely.
For Individuals
Open Enrollment
Public workshops for educators who want to do this work individually. Announced seasonally through Peace Table Solutions.
Module 03
Cross
Meet the inner observer. Practice the Three-Question Reset that makes response possible.
For Ongoing Growth
Coaching Continuation
The workshop opens a door. Ongoing coaching — 1:1 or team — is where lasting change takes root. Sara works with schools on a continuing basis.
Module 04
Return
Build a personal practice. Leave with tools and peer accountability that extend the work beyond the day.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Heard in the room.
"Sara's coaching interweaves personal reflection and growth tools with professional standards and mandates. It's a balanced blend of 'ah-ha' moments with useful tools for continued growth for individuals and teams."
Middle School Teacher
"I inherited some baggage with my team — and needed somebody not only to help us heal, but to learn new tools and move forward. She is great at giving specific skills as well as the science and back-up to what she is assisting with. She is smart, funny, vulnerable, firm and direct."
Head of School
"Dr. Sara's trainings helped me to understand the psychology and human emotions and responses to typical work issues. My staff and I gained a shared vocabulary and a shared understanding."
